Johan du Preez obtained his BA and LL B degrees at the university of Stellenbosch in 1980 and 1982 respectively.

In 1983 he completed his pupillage with adv Willem Louw at the Cape Bar and was admitted as an advocate.

He decided to join the side bar and completed his articles with Chris Venter, attorney of Springs, and Tim du Toit & Co in Pretoria respectively. He was admitted as an attorney in 1990.

He joined Tim du Toit & Co after his admission and was admitted as notary and conveyancer in 1992 and 1993 respectively.

In 2001 he obtained a Certificate in Advanced Labour Law with distinction from the University of Pretoria.

In 2014 he was accredited as commercial mediator at the Africa Centre for DisputeSettlement at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and Business Dynamics.

He joined the firm of Prinsloo – Van der Linde in 2015.

On 1 March 2016 he commenced practising for his own account under the name Johan du Preez Attorney.

Johan has more than 26 years’ experience in a wide field of mainly litigation and commercial work. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: labour law, family law, commercial law, administrative law, the law of delict, regulatory work, and criminal work.
